I'm a Malaysian journalist currently based in the United Kingdom. I have a passion for documenting culture and communities.
I have experience in covering various subjects ranging from politics to media. I have a background in broadcasting, notably with a Malaysian talk radio station, BFM 89.9, where I was a producer for various programmes ranging from current affairs to culture.
I am also trained in sociological research and have experience in qualitative research in the areas of development, culture and heritage, urban sociology and social research.
I freelance for various online publications such as My Malaysia and Poskod. In 2016, I published Why I Travel, a travelogue documenting pockets of communities and localities throughout Peninsular Malaysia. I'm a constant traveler often looking for fresh new stories and perspectives hidden within communities.
I can be contacted for the following:
- Feature editorial assignments
- Research projects
How does an ageing community die out? Is Pahang's best ikan patin really in Temerloh? And why would a Frenchwoman be at all interested in migrating to a remote boat-building village in Terengganu?
WHY I TRAVEL is young journalist Aziff Azuddin's impressions of an undiscovered side of his country. It's an exploration of caves, fishing islands and antique markets, and meeting individuals and communities that complete this national tapestry called Malaysia.
